Movies
I like going to movies with my friends. I usually prefer movies with an uplifting message, but sometimes I enjoy pure escapism. Some of the movies I've enjoyed are: Young Frankenstein, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Red Violin, Billy Elliot, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, A Beautiful Mind, The Shipping News, The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Alternative Health
I like to eat well and stay healthy using alternative health methods. I got started in alternative health after watching Dr. Andrew Weil on PBS. I had a great deal of success using his 8 week program. It made me feel like a new person.
Birds
Sometimes I like to pack up all my cares and woes and go birding. Unfortunately, I haven't had much free time anymore for birding lately. I have over 500 species on my lifelist. I've birded mainly in Florida, but I've made special trips to Washington state, Texas (Lower Rio Grande Valley), Bahamas, Costa Rica, and many other places. I was a Team Leader for Kissimmee Valley Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count for more years than I care to think about. I've recently retired from that count. Books
I like reading self-help books and spiritual books. I've read most of Douglas Adams' books. I really enjoyed all five books in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy. Hey, I know there's only supposed to be three books in a trilogy, but Douglas Adams got on a roll and couldn't quit after just three books. Speaking of trilogies... I'm a big fan of J. R. R.
